Briquettes are wrapped in shrink film for protection against moisture or dirt and for long-term storage. Briquette packs are placed on a 1200 х 800 mm europallet. Total pallet weight is 1 tonne. Currently, most contemporary and popular wood fuel briquettes. Basswood fuel briquettes are pressed from sawdust and chips under extra-high pressure without adhesives or additives and are, therefore, environmentally safe. The key benefit of fuel briquettes against traditional firewood is a 3–4 times longer burning time due to high density of and lack of air inside the briquette. For example, 1 tonne (1.3 cubic metres) of fuel briquettes can generate as much heat as 5 cubic metres of dry birch firewood.
