Porcelain balls for use in a wet/dry sauna, weight 3.3 kg, packed in a plastic bucket. Produced in Russia.
Application:
Porcelain balls are used in a wet/dry sauna stove for heat accumulation. They release heat to bring sauna air, walls, benches and ceiling to the required temperature. When splashed on heated porcelain balls, water evaporates to deliver high-temperature steam that heats the bathers.
Material: porcelain
Benefits:
Ceramic balls are made by Imperial Porcelain from special mullite-corundum porcelain, which is very hard (only diamond is harder).
They do not crack or change colour when exposed to cyclic temperature changes.
Physical properties:
Hardness on Mohs scale: 9
Specific heat capacity: 1.1 kJ/(kg°С)
Heat resistance: up to 1,650°С
Use:
Before placing in an electric or wood burning stove, wash the porcelain balls to clean dust and air-dry them. Leave some distance between the porcelain balls to allow air circulation. For best result use them together with other sauna stones with similar properties.
In an electric stove the distance between the heaters should be the same. Electric stove heaters should be fully covered with stones (5–8 cm over heaters is recommended).
